Consign Dahling, It’s All The Rage

For just over one year, Domestic Possessions, a resale and consignment store in Madison, Connecticut has been open for business.
They are pushing five “R’s.” Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Revive, Redecorate. That’s pretty much what we all should be doing in this economy and to lesson the amount of “stuff” going into our landfills right? Right.
When you stop by this fun place you will see all kinds of treasures from furniture to jewelry to cards and handbags and everything else in between.
The place is huge, just when you think you’ve seen it all, another room pops up.
There are wine and cheese parties here too after hours with speakers about all kinds of things.
Domestic Possessions is a member of The National Association for Resale and Thrift Shops (NARTS) That’s a new one on me, didn’t know that existed, but that’s a beautiful thing. We’ve all got to do our part in getting thru the tough economy and be ever more socially conscious about everything.
NARTS, I just learned, is a part of The 3/50 Project which you need to know about if you don’t already. The 3/50 Project’s motto “Saving the brick and mortars our nation is built on.”
If you look at the first photo on this blog post, you’ll note on the blackboard what the shop is looking for. Currently their wish list includes, bunk beds, outdoor furniture, antiques, chandeliers, end tables, you get the picture. You can consign here and maybe pick up something new for your place.
Store manager, Julia Phillips put so well what Domestic Possessions is all about.

Time to get in the car again, Kathy.
You’ve found another gem, Ann. VERY cool! I am in love! So impressed that I immediately added them to our consignment guide on Hartford Woman Online.
Thanks, Kate, it’s a really cute place.
