Have I Got a Cocktail Mixer For You~Made in Connecticut
When you walk in the door of RIPE, you are met with the fresh smell of citrus. Lemons and limes and oranges, oh my! The magic behind all of RIPES’s freshest of fresh cocktail mixers is going on at a warehouse tucked away in Wallingford, Connecticut. It’s the first-ever premium line of chilled preservative free all natural mixers. They are sweetened with 100 percent agave nectar. The co-founders, thirty-somethings, Michel Boissy and Ryan Guimond who grew up in family businesses hatched an idea in a kitchen a while back and voila, a company was born.
These two were throwing parties and getting sick and tired of the same ole, same ole sweet run- of-the-mill mixers and thought they could make a better one. The pair as they say “went for it” about eighteen-months ago in 2008 and now they’re building the company’s history. They found a vacuum and filled it as every good entrepreneur knows.
Soon Whole Foods came knocking and their entire product line is now stocked in their stores in the northeast.
The squeezing process of the fruit is so top secret, I can’t even show it to you, but take it from me, it’s pretty cool. So cool that it’s done in a room that is kept at 38 degrees (F). The owners figured out a way to “flash” pasteurize” the juice so that it has a shelf life of 45 days.
If you’re thinking of having a “Mad Men” party, RIPE will be perfect. Bring on the sidecars!
Listen to these two quick interviews with CEO, Mike Boissy and you’ll hear the sound of a true entrepreneur.
