It’s About Children And Music.
You just have to know about this awesome non-profit organization that is helping Connecticut’s children who aspire to be musicians.
We were sitting around the table at the office of Bring Our Music Back Inc. planning for an amazing fund raising event called “Holiday Festival of Trees & Music.” It’s going to be held Saturday evening, November 20th at the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme, Connecticut. It’s their first venture into this kind of event and I am honored to be one of the co-chairs along with community philanthropist Dyanne Rafal. The proceeds of this beautiful evening will benefit Youth in Music Initiatives, support musical artistic development of youth, and programs and services along the CT shoreline and New London County. This is MUSIC WITH A PURPOSE, which is the organization’s slogan.
There will be holiday trees all over the Lyme Arts Association for you to look at and to bid on. There will be all kinds of music and goodies to eat too. The evening will be very affordable too.
If you’re looking for glitter and bling and fantasy you’ll want to mark this event on the calendar. The highest bidders will get the whole decorated tree delivered to their doorstep by volunteers from the local Lions Club. It will be a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season. This group knows what it is to give back and they have surrounded themselves with all kinds of folks who embrace that as well.
Executive Director, Gail Stevens is passionate about her work which comes out in the interview below. She is joined around the table by Ex. assistant, Shana Elliot and Director of Events, Andrea Anderson. These gals are working hard to make this a beautiful event, and trust me, they know what they’re doing.
This is the kind of event that is right up Annie Mame’s (Ann Nyberg’s) alley, having fun and giving back.
