Alva Finds A Home For Fine Art

The amount of fine artists in the state of Connecticut, well it’s filled to the brim. All of this art, whether it be paintings or sculpture, jewelry, glass, or pottery it all needs to find a home, or at least the artists would like it to be that way. An artist does his or her work because it is their passion. They create, and they do this on a near 24-7 basis. The marketing of all of these beautiful creations almost comes second, so that’s where Alva Greenberg of Old Saybrook, Connecticut enters the picture. Not only is Greenberg a lover of the arts because she grew up around it as a child, but she’s a collector and is a marketer, an art consultant. She’s the gal that tries to find a home for all of these fine works of art.

Alva was over at The Cooley Gallery the other day in Old Lyme, Connecticut gathering items with Betsey Cooley for a show in New York City called the Red Dot Art Fair, this event is also held once a year in Miami, Florida. A red dot in the art world means something has been sold.

If you haven’t had a chance to stroll around in the gallery, you should when you spend some time in the beautiful historic town along the shoreline. The works of art there are shown in an historic home that dates back to the 1700′s, so just being in the space is inspiring.

The Cooleys, Betsey and Jeffrey, are delightful and ready to educate you completely on the  artists’ works which are hanging around on their walls or a piece of furniture they may be showing or whatever it is that they might be exhibiting at the time. They specialize in American Impressionism and the Hudson River School paintings.

Art is certainly in the eye of the beholder, but you have to enlighten your senses to see it, many can help you do that. You can get a hold of Alva right here:  alvag@alvagallery.com
