It’s A SailFest At Mystic Seaport

Connecticut is a state by the sea, on Long Island Sound, and because it’s in New England, it’s in very close proximity by boat to so many other states and islands, it’s an amazing place.

Mystic Seaport is one of the Nutmeg’s state’s greatest treasures It’s tag line, “The Museum of America And The Sea.” There’s a good reason for that. This place goes back to the 16oo’s. It was a center of shipbuilding. The seaport is a place of maritime history and it’s surroundings will take you back there. This is a venue to study the state’s sailing history and it’s constantly evolving.

The seaport is now hosting a yearly boat show called Sail Quest Mystic, seems like a natural fit and it’s weekend, May13th thru the 15th.

It’s a two-fer, see the seaport and climb on board about 40 boats. You’ll see what’s new, in sailing and power boating and you’ll be able to chat with all kinds of vendors under tents set up on the grounds.

This historic attraction is built for families, it’s what the seaport is all about. There are more than 40 acres of beauty here. You can walk through all the historic look-alike buildings in a replica village, which the kids love. At Christmas time there are maritime strolls and the whole place is decorated. But it’s summer now and it’s time to enjoy the sea and the boats and drink in the sunshine that we all so desperately need. I’m certain you’ll have enough to do this weekend here and just think of the knowledge you’ll leave with.
