Go Ahead And “Tie” One On
This is a really fun idea for anyone who wants to draw attention to waiters in a restaurant or for individuals for that matter, who don’t want to wear just an ordinary tie clip. David Ossorio of Avon, Connecticut had the idea in his head for years as he was working for Max Restaurant Group in Connecticut which now owns 11 restaurants. He knows a thing or two about how the look of the wait staff and the message it sends to patrons. He’s calling his line of custom tie clips “Tie Food.” Very smart branding.
Ossorio is bending tiny spoons and forks so that they clip around your tie, many of the clips are reversible. Some have a music note on the back so that automatically would put a music teacher on the map with his students. He also does one-of-a-kind clips, antique spoons and forks some of which have themes. One silver spoon he bent which featured a windmill with turning blades. Because my maternal Great Grandparents were from the Netherlands, I took that one off his hands immediately and I plan to wear it.
He told me he was getting so many compliments on his creations when he would wear them that he felt it was time to pull the trigger on a new career in retail and now he’s off and running. His retail store is built right into his web site for easy ordering. So when you see waiters wearing these novel little items there’s a good chance it was hand made by Ossorio.

Score is a nation wide organization with 12,000 volunteers, most of whom are retired business persons, who’s primary purpose is to educate and help the small business owner; be they an existing business or a startup.
